Andrea G - Owner
Andrea has an extensive background in marketing and merchandising and is responsible for the majority of King Canary’s design aesthetic. She juggles being a mom of 2 along with keeping her flock in line here, all while running behind the scenes functions of the brewery. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, traveling and picking Joes brain on all the yummy CLT restaurants to try.
Joe H - Head Brewer
Joe began his career in crafting as a Johnson and Wales graduate and chef for thirteen years working everywhere from small fine dining establishments to large scale corporate catering. A naturally picky palate led his fiancé to buy Joe a homebrew kit and he never looked back. Now he uses his extensive culinary knowledge to bring delicious creations to our taproom. Favoring hard-to- find styles like barleywines, scotch ales, and rauchbiers, Joe adds an invaluable perspective and creativity to our team. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and video games.
Adam G - Operations Manager
Adam is a North Carolina native. Before he made King Canary his nest, he was soaring around as a head brewer, developing the skills and knowledge that helped prepare him for this role. His expertise in this industry makes him the perfect person to ask questions about all things beer…and possibly beards. In his free time, you might find him running B-Side in Matthews selling vinyl, comics and artwork.
Austin R - Taproom Manager
Austin has been apart of the flock for several years starting as a bartender. He is now proudly serving as the Taproom Manager. Growing up amidst California’s racing scene instilled a passion for precision and excitement which seamlessly translated into curating unforgettable experiences in the craft beer realm. During his time at King Canary he has immersed himself in the artistry of craft beer, with a special fascination for the nuanced and tart world of sours. He’s committed to not only pouring the perfect pint but creating an inviting space where beer enthusiasts can discover new flavors, share stories, and forge lasting connections over exceptional brews.
Matt M - Sales Rep
Matt brings a wealth of experience in both craft beer sales and the management of taprooms, bars, and restaurants with almost two decades in the food and beverage industry. Beyond work, He enjoys exploring local food and beverage establishments, engaging in home improvement projects, smoking meats, spending time with his pup Layla, embarking on hiking and backpacking adventures with his wife Celina, imbibing in bourbon and craft beer, and foraging the woods in the pursuit of wild mushrooms.
