Our Story
Matt and Andrea Gravina left their corporate careers and moved their small family to North Carolina to pursue their dream of opening a family friendly microbrewery. After an extensive remodel of a 4,500-square-foot multi-story home, their vision became reality when they opened their doors in May 2018. Matt’s impeccable passion for brewing delicious beer and Andrea’s extraordinary attention to interior design and branding quickly made an impact on Mooresville, Lake Norman and the surrounding Charlotte area.
In August of 2019, less than a year and a half after King Canary’s grand opening Matt unexpectedly passed away. With an outpouring of support and love from the community, family and staff, Andrea persevered through the season of change. Andrea and her team have been able to grow this brewery into a successful and thriving business, one that Matt would be most proud of.
King Canary was built on love of family, from day one, leaving reminders of the most important people throughout branding and the brewery. This continues with keeping some of Matt’s favorite traditions a part of our everyday brewing process.
